The distribution company SEED will take over the distribution of selected varieties of the Solana Group in the Spanish market from now on.
The potato breeding company Solana and SEED concluded this agreement at the International Breeders' Show in Emmeloord, the Netherlands. "We see great potential in the Spanish market for our variety portfolio and are very pleased to have gained a strong local partner in SEED, which has many years of experience and numerous contacts," says Tobias Mette, Managing Director of the Solana Group, about the future cooperation.
It was agreed that the cooperation will include the seed potato distribution of the varieties Red Lady, Prada and Queen Anne as well as the french fry variety Edison in the Spanish market.
"In 2024 we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of our company. There could be no better way to celebrate it than to start a cooperation with a company like Solana with promising varieties : Prada and Edison are characterized by their fast and large tuber growth and are a good fit for our region, with Red Lady we have a red skinned table variety that has good drought tolerance, and with Queen Anne a tasty table variety
with long term storage capability," concludes José Alberto Araújo , Managing Director
of SEED.
