About the Solana Group

Our goal has always been to breed resistant, high-yielding potato varieties and to provide high-quality seed potatoes.

In addition to breeding and sales activities, we offer all upstream and downstream services: from research, maintenance breeding and production of seed potatoes, to quality management, expert advice on the selection of varieties and cultivation of potatoes, to the organisation and handling of international logistics.

The Solana headquarters are located in Hamburg, other locations in Germany are the breeding stations in Windeby and Ranzin, the multiplication and testing locations in Stolpe and Gransebieth and the potato storage centre in Züssow.

Our locations

We are represented with our own companies in eleven countries and with sales partners in over twenty countries. We therefore know the local requirements of our customer markets and ensure the shortest possible transportation routes.

The Istanbul-based company Solana Avrasya is responsible for the distribution and multiplication of Solana potato varieties in Turkey.

Solana Germany, based in Hamburg, distributes seed potatoes primarily in the D-A-CH region and organizes the production of pre-breeding and multiplication.

Solana France, based in Champagne, is responsible for the promotion and marketing of Solana potato varieties in France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. The multiplication in France is carried out in close cooperation with selected French multipliers.

Solana Holland breeds and sells potato varieties worldwide. Based in Emmeloord in the Netherlands, the company is at the center of the Dutch seed potato cultivation.

Solana Polska is a sales company responsible for the marketing of seed and table potatoes and organizes the propagation of seed potatoes in Poland.

Solana Romania represents Solana in Romania and produces and distributes seed potatoes of the Solana varieties in Romania.

Solana Logistica, based in Ukraine, offers professional storage for seed potatoes. The warehouse has a capacity of 7,000 tonnes and is equipped with modern ventilation, cooling and sorting systems.
